چکیده

The nonlinear transmission curves of [100]- and [110]-cut Co2+:MgAl2O4 crystals at 1.54 μm were measured experimentally. A phenomenological model was established to analyze the experimental results, in which resonant absorption crystal characterized by four groups linear dipoles oriented along body diagonals ([111], [ $${1}\stackrel{\mathrm{-}}{1}\stackrel{\mathrm{-}}{1}$$ ], $$\stackrel{\mathrm{-}}{1}{\text{1}}\stackrel{\mathrm{-}}{1}$$ ] $$\stackrel{\mathrm{-}}{1}\stackrel{\mathrm{-}}{1}{\text{1}}$$ axis) unit cell. theoretical calculations good agreement with measurement data. This work demonstrated that transition parallel Meanwhile, cross-sections ground state excited calculated be $$\sigma_{{{\text{gsa}}}} = \left( {3.6 \pm 0.3} \right) \times 10^{ - 19}$$ cm2 $$\sigma_{{{\text{esa}}}} {4.5 0.4} 20}$$ cm2, respectively.

Crystal structure of spinel-type Li0.64Fe2.15Ge0.21O4

Spinel-type Li0.64Fe2.15Ge0.21O4, lithium diiron(III) germanium tetra-oxide, has been formed as a by-product during flux growth of an Li-Fe-Ge pyroxene-type material. In the title compound, lithium is ordered on the octa-hedral B sites, while Ge(4+) orders onto the tetra-hedral A sites, and iron distributes over both the octa-hedral and tetra-hedral sites, and is in the trivalent state as deter...

On the orientation of the backbone dipoles in native folds.

The role of electrostatic interactions in determining the native fold of proteins has been investigated by analyzing the alignment of peptide bond dipole moments with the local electrostatic field generated by the rest of the molecule with and without solvent effects. This alignment was calculated for a set of 112 native proteins by using charges from a gas phase potential. Most of the peptide ...

Classical crystal formation of dipoles in two dimensions

We consider a two-dimensional layer of dipolar particles in the regime of strong dipole moments. Here we can describe the system using classical methods and determine the crystal structure that minimizes the total energy. The dipoles are assumed to be aligned by an external field and we consider different orientations of the dipolar moments with respect to the two-dimensional plane of motion. W...

EFFECT OF SPIRAL DESIGN ON CRYSTAL ORIENTATION DURING SINGLE CRYSTAL GROWTH

Geometrical design of the spiral crystal selector can affect crystal orientation in the final single crystal structure. To achieve a better understanding of conditions associated with the onset of crystal orientation in a spiral crystal selector, temperature field was investigated using three-dimensional finite element method during the process. Different geometries of spiral crystal selec...

CORRELATION BETWEEN CRYSTAL ORIENTATION AND NANOGAP FORMED BY ELECTRO MIGRATION

Effect of electro migration on crystal structures of platinum nanowire (Nano bridge) during Nano-gap formation is investigated by means of Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Selected area diffraction patterns as well as bright field images are used for this investigation. There were severely recessions in the polycrystalline Nano bridge and crystal structures around the nanogap changed ...
